1.2.34 यज्ञकर्मण्यजपन्यूङ्खसामसु

The same happens in यज्ञकर्म, singing, जप or आश्वलायन पाठ (7.11).

1.2.33 एकश्रुति दूरात् सम्बुद्धौ

In a way, the rules have an exception. This is when you call someone from far (in a nice way - i.e. संबुद्धि). In the sense of calling, consecutive sounds are considered same स्वर.

1.2.32 तस्यादित उदात्तमर्धह्रस्वम्

The first half measure (मात्रा) of स्वरित is considered उदात्त while the rest is considered अनुदात्त.

1.2.31 समाहारः स्वरितः

When both अनुदात्त and उदात्त are used, then the अच् is termed as स्वरित.

1.2.30 नीचैरनुदात्तः

Below तालु are अनुदात्त.

1.2.29 उच्चैरुदात्तः

अच् of top parts of mouth (तालु etc.) are termed as उदात्त.

ऊकाल includes उकाल ऊकाल उ3काल. The three matras (measures) define ह्रस्व दीर्घ and प्लुत.

1.2.26 रलो व्युपधाद्धलादेः संश्च

उपधा (penultimate position) of इ and उ is called व्युपधा. कित् is not applicable at आदि of हल्, अन्त of रल् or at व्युपधा. For example, द्योतित्वा when no कित् and द्युतित्वा when there is कित्.

1.2.25 तृषि मृषि क्रुशेः काश्यपस्य

According to काश्यप, सेट् क्त्वा after तृष् मृष् क्ऋश् are not कित्. So तृषित्वा or तर्षित्वा can be formed.

1.2.24 वञ्चि लुञ्च्य्ऋतश्च

सेट् क्त्वा after वञ्च् लुञ्च् andऋत् verb-roots are not कित् e.g. वञ्चित्वा.

1.2.23 नोपधात् थफान्ताद् वा

सेट् क्त्वा suffix after non-उपधा verb-roots ending with थ or फ are not कित्. For example, ग्रन्थित्वा गुम्फित्वा.

1.2.22 पूङ्अः क्त्वा च

सेट् निष्ठा  and क्त्वा after पूङ् पवने are not कित्. For example, पवितः.

1.2.21 उदुपधाभ्दावादिकर्मणोरन्यतरस्याम्

उदुपध denotes the उपध of उकार. आदिकर्म is the initial state of the धातु. The voice between active and passive through the natural sense of the धातु is called भाववाच्य. आदिकर्म or भाववाच्य after उदुपध are not कित्. For example, द्य्उत् क्त - द्य्उतित (भाववाच्य) प्रद्य्उतित (आदिकर्म).

1.2.20 मृषस्तितिक्षायाम्

सेट् निष्ठा after present-tense मृष् verb in the sense of forgiveness is not कित्. For example, मृष् इ क्त - मर्षित (गुण is applied through पुगन्तलघूपधस्य).

1.2.19 निष्टा शीङ्स्विदिमिदिक्ष्विदिधृषः

निष्ठा denotes क्त and क्त्वतु. सेट् निष्ठा after शीङ् (sleep), स्विद् (sweat), मिद्(love), क्ष्विद्(love) and धृष् (to be impudent) is not कित्. For example, शयितः,प्रस्वेदितः etc. where गुण is applied.

1.2.18 न क्त्वा सेट्

सेट् क्त्वा suffix is not कित्. Without कित्, गुण is applied through पुगन्तलघूपधस्य. दिव् क्त्वा - दिव् इट् क्त्वा - दिव् इ त्वा - देवित्वा (क्त्वा is not कित् so गुण occurs). Similarly, वृध् इट् क्त्वा - वर्धित्वा.

1.2.17 स्थाघ्वोरिच्च

घु denotes दारूप and घारूप verbs except दाप्. इत् denotes ह्रस्व इकार. ह्रस्व इकार सिच् at अन्त्य अल् after स्था and घु is कित्. This is applied when आत्मेपद is active. For example, उप स्था - उप अ स्था स् त (आत्मनेपद and अकर्मकाच्च) - उप अ स्थ् इ स् त (इकार, किद्वत सिच् ) - उप अ स्थ् इ त - (सिच् लोप through सार्वधातुकार्धधातु- ).
Similarly,दा लुङ् - अट् दा सिच् - अ दि स् त (सिच् किद्वत्) - अदित (सिच् लोप). Also, धा leads to अधित in a similar fashion.

1.2.16 विभाषोपयमने

सिच् suffix after यम् verb in the sense of उपयमन (marriage) is कित् as well. For example, उपा यम् सिच् त - उपायत (similar अनुनासिक लोप as in 1.2.15).

1.2.15 यमो गन्धने

सिच् after यम् - the verb used in the sense of गन्धन (insinuation) - is कित्. For example, उद् आङ् यम् सिच् त् - उद् आङ् य स्  त् (कित् implies लोप of अनुनासिक ) - उदा य स् त (ह्रस्वादङ्गात् )- उदायत. अनुनासिक is not omitted when  यम् is in the sense of pulling (other than insinuation).
