With युष्मद् applicable and a मन्य उपपद, मध्यम results in the sense of ridicule or satire (and is singular).
For example, एहि मन्ये ओदनं भोक्ष्यसे (even though i'm talking about myself भोक्ष्यसे is मध्यम not first-person and मन्ये is first-person not मध्य). When there is no satire, एहि मन्यसे भोक्ष्ये results.
