तङ् implies suffixes from त to महिङ्. आन implies शानच् कानच् चानश् (not applied in लकार). In the current rule, आन is interpreted in a निरुबन्ध manner. The rule states that तङ् and आन suffixes are आत्मनेपद. With 1.4.98 and 1.4.99, 9 suffixes from तिप् to मस् and शतृ-क्वसु are परस्मैपद while 9 suffixes from त to महिङ् and शानच्-कानच् are आत्मनेपद.
